Celebrated in most states on the last Monday in May, Memorial Day is a time to remember the U.S. men and woman who lost their lives serving their country. Originally known as Decoration Day, it was established in 1868 to commemorate the dead from the Civil War. Over the years it came to serve as a day to remember all U.S. men and women killed or missing in action in all wars.
The above explanation of memorial day stolen from GrandMotherWren
Good Morning! I am a Viet Nam Vet I also spent 90 days defending the Berlin Wall. I tell you this because of the disturbing picture I have here. You have to remember that we must serve our country, so that it can be free. I lost a lot of friends in the war. They were scared to be there I was scared to be there. But we all knew it had to be done.DO NOT CRY-HOLD YOUR HEAD HIGH
Now we are fighting several wars at the same time.We fight the conventional war in the Gulf. We fight the 911 type Terrorist war. And we fight the behind the scenes corporate war. The worst type of war is the one that you can not see.The Oil Company,The Banker. We have people trying to devalue our money. Raise our gas prices so high we can not even afford to go to work to pay for it. And taking away our homes. The Foreclosure......................Thank You for letting me vent.
This post will stay on til after Memorial Day. Have a good weekend.
